Commercial and Multi-Family Lot Grading

Flooding caused by heavy precipitation, melting snow or runoff can pose problems for all types of properties.

The Surface Drainage Bylaw is developed for all commercial land development after 1993 to conform to approved surface drainage plans.

Upon application for a Development Permit for any land zoned Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Family, Apartment, Row Housing and Urban Services, the developer must submit a proposed Lot Grading Plan to Drainage Services for approval. The Lot Grading Plan must be completed within 60 days of the issuance of the building permit.
